The band from the town České Budějovice was founded in 1965.
The band focused mainly on the vocal tracks from groups for example The Byrds, The Beatles, The Mamas & The Papas, CCR, Tremeloes, The Beach Boys, Turtles and others.
They were a very popular group in town České Budějovice and in the South Bohemian Region between 1965 and 1968. They ranked regularly on the top of big beat festivals held those days.
In 1968, just before the arrival of the Allied troops, they won a national competition in Slovak town - Strážné. After the occupation in 1968, the band broke up.
In 2005 after 40 long years the band Helios met again in the original cast: Zdeněk Charvát - drums, vocals, Karel Živnůstka - guitar, vocals, Vlastimil Tuček - bass guitar, vocals, Milan Šindelář - guitar, vocals, and performed at a commemorative event in České Budějovice.
The band in the current cast: Zdeněk Charvát - drums, guitar, vocals, Vlastimil Tuček - bass, vocals, Petr Steinbauer - lead guitar, vocals, Jaroslav Verner -guitar, vocals, Pavel Placek - saxophones, flute and more.
The band continues playing retro music of the 60s and 70s aforementioned bands.
